Hello and welcome to #DEArTour, the travel blog segment for Delux Designs (DE), LLC.
Today’s post is highlighting an art gallery visit to the Elder Gallery of Contemporary Art in Charlotte, North Carolina. This was my first time visiting the gallery and it was just in time to view Charlotte artist Dammit Wesley’s exhibition collection Ballad of the Bella Noches.

Firstly, the staff of Elder Gallery of Contemporary Gallery of Art were top tier.
When I walked in the atmosphere was so welcoming and inviting. I felt at ease as soon as I walked in. Everything was so clean and organized, I loved it. During the time period that I did visit this was during the week and not during the actual exhibition day, so there were not many people there which was great for me to be able to view all of the art work freely at my own pace. This gallery was free to visit at the time. Not sure if there are any fees that need to be paid on certain days or for certain exhibitions however.

Overall I loved the artwork included. All paintings reminded me of the 90’s time period of life here in the United States in which I am a 90’s baby so this was refreshing for me. It brought back a ton of great memories. The color combinations were beautiful. They were toned down yet bright and vibrant which I love.

One thing I can say about Dammit Wesley’s artwork is that it is always a great representation of the African American community as a whole. I’ve seen his work in other gallery shows and exhibitions in the Charlotte, North Carolina area in the past and they’ve always been so refreshing and a great representation for our culture.
Overall I would say my visit to the Elder Gallery of Contemporary Art was a 10 out of 10 experience and I would highly recommend anyone to visit if you’re looking for a midday stroll through some great art pieces.
