Man, this latest movie I watched on Amazon Prime from producer and directer Tyler Perry was so incredibly good! It kept my attention from the beginning to the end! I had never heard of this movie until today while scrolling through Amazon Prime’s selection of movies this weekend but I’m happy that I did run across it. Overall, the summary of the movie is that an attorney’s best friend’s husband is tragically murdered by a police officer. But this is not your ordinary police involved shooting incident. It’s a lot of twists and turns, and just overall internal drama for the motives of this incident and exactly who is responsible for it as well.
Lets get into the characters that star in this movie below:
Marley Wells

Marley Wells, played by actress Kat Graham, is a law attorney who is dating a man named Tony. She seems very successful and highly educated but a bit guarded. Sort of defensive in a way but she loves her best friend Fela and her boyfriend Tony but everything is not all what it seems when it comes to the people around her.
Fela Blackburn

Meagan Tandy played Fela Blackburn who is now widowed in this movie due to the tragic death of her husband Rodney Blackburn at the hands of a police officer. She works as a tough journalist who always aims to not back down from a juicy story. She has similar characteristics as her best friend Marley, but she’s much more secretive overall about her life and her motives regarding her husband.
Tony Crenshaw

Tony Crenshaw is a private investigator played by Tyler Lepley who once worked for the same police department in question regarding Rodney’s murder and where Kevin is a current officer for. They never fully said what happened with him as to why he was no longer a police officer (or maybe I missed it). I automatically assumed he done something shady with the way he maneuvered throughout this movie. He seems like the most perfect guy for Marley. Like completely perfect. Like too unnaturally perfect to where you should question what he is doing behind closed doors.
Kevin Moore

Kevin Moore is a police officer played by RonReaco Lee who was on the scene during the incident where Rodney lost his life. In the body cam footage, you can see Kevin telling the shooting officer to not render aid to Rodney (keep this in mind when viewing this movie). Kevin is friends with Rodney on top of that, they work in the same police department together. You can see Kevin flirting with Rodney’s wife as well during this time period in the very beginning of the movie but she never fell for his bait that he presented to her through his flirtatious nature towards her as whole. He is clearly shady but you would never guess the extent to which he will go when it comes to his charm and shady ways of cutting corners.
Caleb Kain

Caleb, played by Jimi Stanton, is the shooting officer of the tragic death of Rodney. His life is put on display when this happens so much that he’s being told who he is overall from people who don’t know him. To me it seemed like he was a scapegoat for a lot of things that transpired. He did receive his own justice for himself in the end.
Rodney Blackburn

Now Rodney is the center focus of this movie as it’s based on his tragic death, so in part we did not get to experience much of him during the movie. Rodney didn’t seem to be as nice as they made him out to be in this movie, however. Played by Joshua Adeyeye, he was a current police officer apart of the same department as Kevin and Caleb, and once Tony. His life seems perfect, but you can tell things were not going well inside his home with his wife, Fela, as everyone thought.
I would highly recommend this movie if you’re looking for something good to watch with a lot of drama, suspense, twists and turns. You can find it on Amazon Prime, or click the button below to view from this post.
Enjoy!
