Hello everyone! Welcome to Day #5 of our annual Art April series of creativity for the year, as well as Day #2 of #the100dayproject! As promised, we are here to show off our second painting of the art challenge. Our first painting was titled, ‘Keisha’ in reference to Keisha from the hit movie Belly. Amazingly, this painting sold within 12 hours of being posted online through our instagram and facbeook pages. We intend to sell all paintings created in this challenge so please keep that mind if you see anything you are interested in for your home or business.
The next painting of our series is titled, ‘Trippy Grandma’. I started this painting about two months ago and never got a chance to sit down and finish it so I figured why not take advantage of this time period to complete some incomplete paintings as well. I did not want this painting to be politically correct though, meaning this portrait was not done perfectly intentionally. I wanted her face to kind of look flushed and weird, along with her eyes. The hair scarf done for her just reminded me of my grandmother, so that’s where the name “Trippy Grandma” came from.
