I had my eye on Cricut for about two years before I decided to make my first purchase. I sort of got lucky as well because I caught this Cricut Explore Air 2 shown above on sale for $149.99 USD when at the time the original price tag was showing over $200 USD at Michaels Arts & Crafts. At the time of purchase I knew that you could use this machine to cut different materials but I didn’t realize the wide variety of materials it can actually cut designs into until I was able to open the box and really work with the machine once I got home. So far the most used material for me would be vinyl and then paper. I have plans to try out other things including the leather material shown above at a later date during 2023. When I first began cutting vinyl, I noticed that sometimes the cuts would not come out clean or it wouldn’t cut at all so I would advise using some scrape vinyl or paper if you have it and practice with this machine before committing to bigger projects. There are certain pressure points each blade type needs to be to cut certain materials so please keep that in mind.
Check out some of the creations I’ve come up with using my Cricut Explore Air 2 below.

I give the Cricut Explore Air 2 a 5 out of 5 stars. The machine itself is not as heavy as I expected it to be, so it can be moved around as needed. There are compartments on the machine as well for storing tools, great space saver for me in my work area. This machine also comes in a variety of different colors to fit your aesthetic as well. If you’re a small business looking for a way to personalize your branding, or even a parent or someone looking for a great way to personalize gifts, this is the machine for you. Like I mentioned before, I’ve only worked with mainly paper and vinyl so far, but this cutting machine can cut into a variety of different materials including leather, wood, acrylic, and even glass! I’ll have more product reviews coming soon featuring our new Cricut Explore Air 2 soon!
