It is almost that time for the hottest month of the year, February 2018, which is Black History Month! If you don’t already know, Delux Designs (DE), LLC is black owned and operated…..really black female owned and operated so this month is highly important for us here. This year we will be highlighting a variety of different African American based businesses, services, artwork, movies and so much more! Read below for more information!

What is Black History Month?

Black History Month, also known as the National African American History month, is the whole month of February each year where we highlight the accomplishments of African Americans whether it be inventions that have changed society or bringing awareness to how far the African American community has come along in society today. This annual celebration was started by a historian by the name of Carter G. Woodson, along with the help of additional African American figures as well dating all the way back to 1915.

What we have planned this month are daily posts about Black History in the arts. Including highlights of historical painters, designers, illustrators, black history events and much more! Also included will be new black artwork from DE and illustrations highlighting major and significant events that have happened in the black community over the last ten years. Feel free to comment and leave your thoughts on any posts throughout February. They will be open for dialogue and conversation so don’t hesitate to comment in each comment section that will be provided with each post.
