Hey everyone! We are back with another product review.
This time for Carol’s Daughter Rhassoul Clay Mask.
If you can remember, this is one of the recent purchases from our Winter 2019 Product Haul. I wanted a good mask to use, since my hair was becoming dry due to the low temperatures this past winter season. The decision of going with a clay mask was it’s thickness and the fact that I had already seen the success of this particular mask from other natural hair bloggers and vloggers on Instagram and Youtube. Plus this is a product highly recommended from one of our affiliate partners Carol’s Daughter.
The first thing I love about Carol’s Daughter Rhassoul Clay Mask is the smell! I thought with “clay” being apart of the product itself it would have one of those strong medical type smells but to my surprise it wasn’t that bad. I guess what I was smelling mainly was the cactus flower that’s also included in the product. The thickness of it was perfect for my hair texture and it was easier to distribute throughout my curls than first expected as well. The reason I went with this one is because of it’s promise to soften my curls and it did not disappoint. As soon as I place the product on top of my curls, they began to melt into place and clump together which was exactly what I wanted overall. I’m not big on having the longest set of curls, but I am big on bringing out the texture of my curls more than anything.
My process was pretty simple: I washed my hair with the Okay Pure Naturals Black Jamaican Castor Oil Moisture and Growth Shampoo twice first. Next, I used the ORS Olive Oil Deep Penetrating Conditioner. I combed the conditioner through my curls from root to ends to make sure it was all distributed fully and placed a plastic cap over my head. Then I sat under a hooded dryer for about 10 minutes, not too long. After 10 minutes had passed, I rinsed my hair with warm water, and then applied the clay mask to my hair. I didn’t towel dry, I made sure my hair was completely wet the entire time of the mask application. You can check a picture above and below of how it looked once the mask was fully applied.
I left the mask on for about 20 – 25 minutes with another plastic cap. Once the 20-25 minutes had passed, I rinsed my hair with cool water and went on to style my hair for the day in medium sized two-strand twists.

As you can tell and see, the clay mask brought my hair texture all the way out and I loved it! My hair is way more shiny than before when it was dull, but not a brittle dull. I can also tell where I need to trim my ends at after this mask treatment as well now. I’ll be back again soon with updates on this treatment since I’m adding it to my monthly routine from now on.
