Welcome to DeluxHair, sister site and brand of Delux Designs (DE), LLC where we discuss natural hair, beauty tips and fashion trends! For today’s post, I (@K_DougDE) will be reviewing a new product of mine from our affiliate partner Estee Lauder, the Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation.
For me, I am a big MAC Cosmetics and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics fan, loyal customer and consumer.
But when I came across Estee Lauder’s foundation I decided to give it a try. Luckily, I was not disappointed and I have now become a huge fan of this brand as well. With MAC and Bobbi Brown, I typically use either their powder foundations or their foundation sticks, always staying away from liquid foundations. I just didn’t see it being a good fit for me, especially with me being in the South where it is often hot and humid daily. I feared my makeup would run a lot and be really messy, but this time I was completely wrong.
I was introduced to Estee Lauder through The Cosmetic Company Store.
They have this neat set up where you can go in and pick up a small makeup bag full of sample products. You fill your bag with sample sizes of either cosmetics, skin care items or perfumes but the catch is you can only place either 5 or 6 items in your bag and you then you just pay a flat rate price of $15 USD. Pretty great deal if you’re wanting to try out certain products to see how you like them before buying the full size products at full price. One of the items I selected just so happened to be the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation, and surprising by luck it was the exact match of foundation for my skin as well. I think I bought like three different sample packs within like three months of visiting the store on three different occasions. All different bags and different products, but somehow I ended up with three sample sizes of the same foundation. Once I realized I had that many samples of that one product, I figured that was a sign to try them out and see how they worked for my skin.
Immediately, the coverage that this foundation brought to my skin was beautiful. I mean there were no smears. I only had to apply one coat of this foundation and it was flawless. My face has a pretty good amount of discoloration and an uneven tone so I was very surprised by the coverage. You can see my results from the photo above with how my skin looked before applying the foundation compared to after in the photo below with the foundation on.
I would highly recommend Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation if you’re looking for a liquid foundation that gives full coverage overall. I don’t have to use that much of the product when wearing it. Even while wearing it in the hotter summer months, it doesn’t run or smear, it literally just does what it says it does in the name and that’s stay in place. The only times I have found anything change with wearing the foundation is when I would be out and about with it on for more than 5 hours. Around hour 5, I found that it would become a bit shiny but nothing alarming. To counter this, I often use Smashbox Primer under it and it helps with the shine a lot. The color match is perfect for me, never had an issue with my face being lighter than my other skin areas or anything like that.
