DeluxHair – Protective Styling with Wigs

Image provided by Giphy

During the coldest and hottest months I typically stick with Protective Styling more than anything. Last year, my preference was Mini Twists more than anything. This year has been wigs. Wigs are the most convenient, to me, price and time wise. Very affordable in most cases, and they don’t require a large amount of time to install and style.

Half Wigs & Full Wigs

When it comes to wig styles, I always go for half wigs or full wigs.
A half wig example would be the first four photos shown below. They are very easy to install but they require require a little maintenance daily as the front portion of your hair will be out and needs to be styled. My style of choice for half wigs is often the top knot half wig style. The top knot half wig style shown below was inspired by @TheNaturaChic. One of her tutorials for the style has been included below as well.

Full wigs are a lot lower maintenance than half wigs. You don’t necessarily have to do any styling to your own hair with a full wig as you would with a half wig. I would say this is the best protective style for length retention as long as you’re taking care of your hair under it as well. Check out my hair choice for this look from Vivica Fox Hair Collection below.
