DeluxHair is the sister site of Delux Designs (DE), LLC that focuses on natural hair care for women of color, particularly women with 4A – 4C hair types. This extension of DE was created in 2011 in an effort to help promote local area stylists and cosmetology services through our Facebook Group. During the year of 2012, DeluxHair’s mission changed to more of an empowerment brand to show women of color that you do in fact have a choice when it comes to your hair. Overtime throughout history and even right now, we as women are very often ridiculed for not relaxing or straightening out our hair to fit society’s view of what they believe true beauty really is. We as women, more so women of color, have often been told for centuries that we have to present ourselves, especially our hair, in a certain manner in order to be taken serious or to even feel beautiful. DeluxHair intends to break those hair barriers. Founded by Keara Douglas, or KD for short (@K_DougDE), the DeluxHair site is based off of the natural hair journey for Keara as she embraces her natural hair texture all while empowering other natural hair women of color to do the same through social media posts, hair care tips, events and much more! Our main focus for DeluxHair is natural hair but we also touch basis on beauty products like cosmetics and even skin care, along with fashion as well!
