Traveling is big for me yearly, especially during the hotter months of the summer time. I often take part in many trips, some big some small. Over time I have found many ways to keep up with work while I’m traveling all while still enjoying my vacations with family and friends. This was no walk in the park, though, in the beginning.

Years ago, I wasn’t able to keep my focus on my work and have fun at the same time while on vacations for some reason. I’m not sure if it was the sudden changes in environment from one place to another, or the fact that I was not prepared enough to handle both tasks simultaneously, but it took me a while to learn how to balance everything out.

Over the last year, I have also had the privilege to learn a thing or two from our affiliate House of Brazen on how to run my business while traveling as well. Lets take a look at some tips I have picked up along the way that may help you out while you’re on your summer adventures as a business owner, artist or blogger.

Tips for Traveling and Running Your Business

1. Stay Ahead of the Game – I always plan ahead when I know I am about to go out of town. I make sure that any major work assignments are completed beforehand so I won’t have to worry about them on my trips.
2. Make a Schedule – Setting a schedule for myself is how I stay ahead of the game. Scheduling when certain projects are due before traveling can make your process of preparing to leave go a lot smoother. I make sure projects with a higher priority are done first. The most difficult projects are done first as well, and then lower priority are scheduled accordingly.
3. Automate All Posts – You can always schedule your blogs posts while you’re away as well if you’re looking to keep your promotions flowing. Facebook groups have an option now where you can schedule posts just like the similar feature with WordPress. I’ve used this tool often, even while I’m not on vacation. Instagram does as well, along with third party sites like Hootsuite for Twitter.
