We are officially half way through the summer season of the year and you know what that means. Beach trips! Summer is one of my favorite times of the year, so of course I had to create a painting to add to the DE Painting collection for the lucky season.

Douglas, Keara. Summer Storm. 2015. Acrylic. 12×9 inches.

Summer Storm acrylic painting was created during the year of 2015 but still holds weight to this day. Created on a 9×12 inch canvas panel, this acrylic painting was created to symbolize those times during the summer where pop up storms and rain showers occur during beach trips. We’ve all been there where you’re relaxing and having a good time, and then all of a sudden you can see a storm coming over the horizon. Most of the time these type of storms don’t last that long but they often bring a relief with cooler temperatures on a hot day at the beach. Visual artist @K_DougDE created Summer Storm by using the Liquitex Matte Medium from our affiliate partner Michaels Arts and Crafts Store and Anita’s Acrylic Paint from Hobby Lobby.

The original Summer Storm painting is now available for purchase here.
