The Purple Crown Project – Domestic Violence Awareness for Women does not mean Hate for Men

Often times, I get messages here and there from our social media pages of followers expressing their delight and happiness of us bringing awareness to a growing epidemic of violence against women at the hands of men publicly. With this particular epidemic, most women typically stay quiet and cover up what is really going on making it easier for abusers to continue their abusive pattern. Or they will stay quiet about harm being brung to women they may personally know around them. For us here at The Purple Crown Project, we are the complete opposite which means of course we have run into some push back over the last couple months of us debuting this new segment campaign of The DE Foundation.

One main and common push back we often receive in our inboxes is from males. Specifically how some men feel as though us bringing awareness to domestic violence against women at the hands of men is tied to a hate for men. We are here to address this issue today in our newest post and inform everyone that this is far from the truth. In fact, bringing awareness to domestic violence against women at the hands of men is actually the opposite of what these select few view as hate. Bringing awareness to this topic means that we actually do love our men very much. It means that we see a growing issue that needs to be addressed in order for the men whom we love dearly to know what is going on around them.

Without bringing a problem to your attention, how will you ever know it is truly a problem?

I have found that the men who have a problem with anyone bringing awareness to violence against women by men often times attempt to justify men being violent towards women which shows a bigger sign of a bigger problem with that particular man. Any man or male that values and respects the opposite sex knows that it is never alright to be violent against the opposite sex or anybody for that matter. There is no time or situation that calls for men to be violent against women at all in our society. It does not help anything and does not bring any mature positivity to anyone involved. Another point this often times shows is the actual abusive nature of that particular man whom may not like to see or hear about women bringing awareness to domestic violence is their own violent nature they truly have going on deep down inside of them. Some people will attempt to distract you from their truth. They oppose and go against the good you are doing or displaying to cover up what is truly going on with them. The truth hurts at times and if you are presenting nothing but the truth to someone who is not living in their truth they will often object it and present a lot of push back from that said truth.

We do not hate men. We love men. We love you.

But we (women) want better.
We (women) want to be treated better.
We (women) want more fairness and positivity from the men around us.
This is why we do this.
