When I first set out to bring awareness to domestic violence it was during the year of 2011. Starting off, I knew I wanted the term purple to be apart of the name with purple being the official color for domestic violence. Once I got the first word down pat and a vision began to start of what I wanted to do with this campaign, I went on to add in the term crown. The word crown was added as a representation to “Queens” which is a symbol for the fact that I solely focus on bringing awareness to harm placed against women at the hands of men, not the other way around. Even though we all know this form of abuse is happening on a regular to men as well, I am very adamant about keeping the focus on helping women. Read more on why from our last post here. The term crown to was added also as the representation of this campaign being for the ladies. Once I had the first part of the name, The Purple Crown, I went on to add the term project on the end to seal it.
The Purple Crown Project represents and is a symbol for royalty of women.
The belief that every woman should be treated as royalty & should always be taught how to treat herself as such.
