Day 2 of #TheYearofNo Campaign is about Self-Sabotage.
First and foremost, lets start with the definition of self-sabotage.
Self-Sabotage is a behavior that creates problems in our life & interferes with long-standing goals. The most common self-sabotaging behaviors are procrastination, self-medication with drugs or alcohol, comfort eating, & forms of self-injury.
I, myself, have been self-sabotaging for years now. Mine has not been extreme as far as self-injury, but it has hindered a lot of great opportunities for myself over time. Simple things like procrastinating, using that phrase, “I can take care of this tomorrow.”, or even comfort eating during bad times. Fruit would be a better choice, but who can resist an ice cream sundae, ya know? #TheYearofNo includes eliminating self-sabotaging behaviors and activities.
How do you deal with self-sabotage? Leave your methods and thoughts in the comment section below.
