Hello and welcome to the Delux Designs (DE), LLC Blog and website!
If you’re new here, we are a visual arts brands that provides art, crafts, and much more pertaining to creativity and being an artist. Today’s post is focused on one of our crafts that we provide for sale and for order, our Custom Glass Ornaments, and how you should store them. Our Custom Glass Ornaments are glass ornament decorations that our owner and founder (me) Keara Douglas creates by hand using a variety of different mixed media mediums to create sets of twelve (12) ornaments designed to coordinate with each other. These are mainly used during the Christmas holiday seasons but they are a home decor options for any occassion of your choice.

First thing’s first, please keep in mind that our Custom Glass Ornaments are very fragile as they are made out of glass so storing them properly is highly important so they do not become scratched or broken throughout the year, and so they’re in good shape every season or annually for when you decide to display them.

There are ways of keeping these ornaments safe and stored properly but let’s get into what you should not do when storing your Custom Glass Ornaments from Delux Designs (DE), LLC:

  1. Do not store your Custom Glass Ornaments outside or outdoors. We do not recommend this as the extreme hot temperatures during the summer months has the potential to fade the design color itself and it has the potential to turn your ornaments into a yellowish color changing the entire design of your set. Once that fading and color change happens, that ornament set is pretty much ruined and it can’t be reversed. A whole new set would need to be created to replace it.
  2. Do not store your Custom Glass Ornaments individually on shelves. What I mean by “individually” is just sitting each ornament ball itself on a hard surface with no encasing or anything. There is a high potential of the ornament falling and breaking for one, or the potential of you losing ornaments and misplacing them before you’re able to display them again.
  3. Do not hang your Custom Glass Ornaments in your vehicle. These are not decorations for vehicles, they are designed to be used for home décor. Again this is another way of misplacing ornaments from your set, or breaking them.
  4. Do not store in plastic bags. This is not a great option for storing glass. Very high chance of breaking ornaments this way.
  5. Do not pack your Custom Glass Ornaments tightly into boxes. Always create some sort of boundary or separation between each ornament when storing in boxes. When you pack them together, with each ornament touching each other, there is a high chance of breaking each ornament or creating cracks in your ornaments.

Now, when you receive your Custom Glass Ornament Set, they will come in these little boxes shown in the photo above. These are not storage boxes for your ornaments, they are only used for transporting, so we do not recommend that you use these for storage as well. They are made from paper products which could easily be damaged and will prevent protection for your glass ornament inside of it long term. We use this option for transportation for your ornaments by using a special packing method. It’s safe for transporting and a cost efficient shipping method and option, but not a long term solution for storing.
