DeluxHair – Shea Moisture Power Greens Product Review

We are back again for another product review with natural hair influencer and blogger Keara Douglas! For today’s review, we will be discussing Shea Moisture’s Power Greens with Moringa and Avocado hair care line.
Let’s get straight into the review now below!

I recently received the Shea Moisture Power Greens hair care line from Influenster and was very eager to try them out earlier this year. As you may remember I have used Shea Moisture before, specifically the African Black Soap Dandruff Control shampoo and conditioner, the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave in Conditioner, and the 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil.

First thing’s first, with this particular line I love the packaging.
Normally, when I receive a product I notice there isn’t much protection on the packaging, not even when you open the bottles there isn’t normally any plastic or anything to protect the product while in transfer. With this one you can tell Shea Moisture focused on making sure it wasn’t tampered with at all by placing plastic on the outside of it which I love. It makes me trust the company and brand more when ordering online.

Second thing I noticed was the smell of the products.
I love it as well. Seems very clean and green focused.
Not too strong but not too faint either.

With this Influenster Box Reveal it came with the shampoo, conditioner, hair tea rinse and hair reconstructor (or deep conditioner). The only thing that was missing was some leave in conditioner so I opted to add in the Shea Moisture Red Palm Oil and Cocoa Butter Rinse Out or Leave in Conditioner. I first washed my hair and mainly my scalp with the shampoo and then rinsed. I repeated this step twice to make sure my hair was cleaned thoroughly. Next, I applied the hair rinse to my scalp until it became a slight lather. It started to tingle a little when I used it but I love it because it was like an additional hair wash for my scalp for that last extra scrub. The more I repeated my usage of this line I noticed the rinse truly helped with clearing my scalp of any build up over time and dandruff flakes. After applying the rinse, the instructions said to not rinse but to apply the conditioner on top of the hair and scalp that had the rinse applied to it and leave it on for a total of 3 minutes so that’s what I done. I noticed this step made my hair really soft before rinsing it out and applying the reconstructor, also known as the deep conditioner of the line. I applied a plastic hair cap over my hair with the deep conditioner on it and left it on for about 20-30 minutes the first go around, but all other times after that first use I only left it on for about 10 to 20 minutes and sat under my hooded dryer. This is also the step that I detangle my hair after sitting under the dryer to minimize breakage and tangles.

Wash and Go | @K_DougDE | May 2020

Shea Moisture Power Greens is the only hair care line that I have been using the entire year of 2020. So far I love it and feel like I have seen the most positive results with it more than any other lines that I have tried so far. It cleans and maintains well for my hair type and goes great for the goals I have set for my natural hair journey. The only downside for me on it is the fact that no leave in conditioner was included for it. I think that would complete the entire line if one was created soon in the future for it, along with some sort of hair oil as well. The original price is sort of steep but I think it is worth it overall for the quality you would be receiving if purchased.
