I’m Michelle Solomon, an artist and illustrator.
I strive to bring beauty into the world and enjoy working from home while I double as a homeschooling, homemaking, stay-at-home wife and mother.
I’ve loved art since I was a little girl. I remember my first elementary school art show and how proud I was to stand with my family beside my (wobbly) painting of a pink flamingo. In high school, I took IB art as well as attended summer courses at Montserrat College, and classes at a Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia alongside my art teacher. After these years I pursued other interests, got married, had babies, and realized that I wanted to get back to creating beautiful art and this passion I know and love. I take inspiration from my daily life, especially my community and the plants and flowers around me. I live on 2.5 wooded acres of land, so being in nature has a great effect on how I create. I also love to see trends and styles of other artists, which often helps to create new ideas and jumping off points for additional work.
For my artwork, I am most interested in product and editorial illustration, educational materials, book illustrations, social media images and greeting cards. I especially love making food, floral, and Catholic art.
I host a Mom’s Art Night In group on Facebook, where women who can’t go to painting nights or art classes because they are busy with their families can come and hang out together, learn a new technique, and make something beautiful.
If you have an idea for a project or would like to work together, please send me a message, I’d love to hear from you.
