#DEArTour – Adobe Create Now Seminar

Hello and welcome back to Delux Designs (DE), LLC!
If you’re new here, this is the website and blog site for DE in which we discuss different art topics, creativity, and marketing along with a number of different other topics as well. Today’s post is through our travel segment #DEArTour where we highlight different art events and different art travel opportunities. Let’s get into this exciting event we attended recently below.

Last month I had the opportunity to attend The Adobe Create Now Seminar event at the Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. I got the invite for this seminar via email from Adobe and I saw it on Facebook as a sponsored post as well. I think I registered for this event immediately when I saw it because I have always been what you would call an #AdobeGirly, huge fan of Adobe all together including all of their software programs for design and art. I love all Adobe products and services and have ever since I began my designing career 13 years ago. Not sure if Adobe’s team and organization frequents this area on a regular but this was personally my first time seeing any in-person event from them so it was important for me to attend.

When I first got there, I had to figure out where to park. If you’re not familiar with Uptown Charlotte, parking can be a headache and a pain if you’re unsure as to where to go, and if there are multiple events going on at one time in the same area. For me the traffic was just bad this particular day overall but once I got into the garage, I was able to park with no problems. I made my way to the elevator and up to the Mint Museum. When I walked in there was a lady at the door who gave me a badge to write my name on along with these little colored dots to place on the badge as well. Each specific color represented the career field or type of medium we worked with as a guest during the event. I chose illustrator and graphic designer.

From there I made my way on into the museum to be greeted by bartenders and staff of the museum along with other guests there networking. There were different refreshments available including different finger foods, and some drink options for us to pick from. We spent about 45 minutes in this lobby area networking with one another before we were escorted into the main seminar room for the presentation.

I was surprised to see so many people attending but then again I wouldn’t expect less from such a great brand hosting a rare in-person event like this. I believe that if this event had’ve been hosted during the weekend it would’ve been over capacity. That’s another thing that I did like as well, the fact that it was hosted during the week. I was able to connect with like minded people who are doing the same thing that I am doing. Plus it was very professional. A crowd was present but it wasn’t overwhelming. Overall a great and positive atmosphere.

Once we entered into the actual seminar, the presentation began as scheduled and I must say I learned so much during this presentation. There were a ton of new features coming for Adobe users at the time so it was really exciting to learn about them and try them out before the public. I use Adobe Photoshop for desktop on a regular basis but I will soon start using Adobe Express for my social media post planning. It’s truly convenient with the new features that have been added. Adobe Illustrator had a lot of new features and improvements added as well that will come in handy with creating logos and flyers as well.

I’m hoping that more events come to the area similar to this one soon, where I can continue to network and learn about new tools and systems to use for my business and service.
Thank you to Adobe for hosting such a great presentation!
